Music Education

I am experienced as a music educator in a variety of settings, including schools, higher education and workshops. I currently work for the following organisations:

  • Kent Music, an education charity and lead partner for the Music Education Hub for Kent. I teach peripatetically in schools across the county (both primary and secondary), delivering whole-class and one-to-one music tuition on guitar and ukulele as well as tutoring on projects such as Orchestra ONE.

  • The Rockstar Experience, a CIC for which I am a Director which provides funded music opportunities for young people who might not otherwise be able to access this. This includes holiday and after-school programmes with a variety of focuses including instrumental tuition, songwriting and composition mentorship, and development of stagecraft.

  • I also teach privately (details below) and take on ad hoc work in other settings, for example supporting student workshops at Canterbury Christ Church University.

    Private Tuition

I offer one-to-one music tuition for guitar, bass, theory, and composition, suitable for all levels of experiences and ages (I am enhanced DBS checked). Whether you are just looking for the basics or looking to get more advanced and specialised, I can help you! My approach is student-focused, encouraging students to have agency over their learning - I work collaboratively to ascertain musical goals, and tailor lessons to reach these. Music theory and technical exercises are introduced alongside learning to play, ensuring students gain meaningful insight into the music they are learning and develop a deeper theoretical understanding and curiosity - providing musicality directly applicable in real life situations. Ultimately, students will become not just guitarists but well-rounded and accomplished musicians.

I offer one-hour sessions starting from £25, which includes:

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like to discuss tuition.
